['vlk], Miloslav, tschechischer katholischer Theologe, * Lišnice-Sepekov (Südböhmisches Gebiet) 17. 5. 1932; Studium der Archivwissenschaft und Tätigkeit als Archivar; ab 1964 Studium der Theologie am Priesterseminar von Leitmeritz; 1968 Priesterweihe. Als Pfarrer war Vlk (besonders wegen seiner Kinder- und Jugendseelsorge) starkem staatlichem Druck ausgesetzt und 1978-86 mit Berufsverbot belegt. 1990 wurde er Bischof von Budweis, 1991 Erzbischof von Prag und Primas der katholischen Kirche in der Tschechischen Republik Von 1993 bis Juni 2001 war Vlk Präsident des »Rates der Europäischen Bischofskonferenzen«; seit 1994 ist er Kardinal.
